04/19 to 04/26

This past week we've made progress in making sure to have all parts manufactures and assembled for next week. We had a half-scale team meeting to collectively plan out what the goals for each team would be. We plan on having the braking mechanism ready to mount and test by the end of next week and also plan on having the bevel gears, motors, and other parts in our hands to complete mounting them to the bogie.

Checking to see that the motor can mount directly to braking mechanism.

03/22 - 04/05

These past weeks we have been working on the redesigned brake for the bogie.
The motor (circled in blue) will pull a wire which will in turn pull the brake lever back, against a spring. Once the spring moves back to original position, the brake lever rubs against the wheel (circled in red) and slows down the wheels. We plan on testing different materials that the wheel rubs against (aluminum, or rubber) and also have plans on testing the wire used to pull the lever back as we need to determine if it can be flexible enough to wrap around the rod.

We have most of the materials for the brake design, we still need to purchase some machine tools. We are awaiting for the propulsion motors and gears in order to progress with propulsion. We plan on having the motor mounts soon.
